CROSBY, STILLS & NASH - Allies (1983)
Originally released in 1983, ALLIES is a live album by Crosby, Stills and Nash that was largely recorded on the tour for 1982's DAYLIGHT AGAIN, though versions of David Crosby's "Shadow Captain" and Joni Mitchell's "He Played Real Good For Free" date from a 1977 concert. Rather than being a traditional live collection of hits, ALLIES consists mostly of relatively obscure songs, with only Nash's "Wasted on the Way" and Stills's Buffalo Springfield hit "For What It's Worth" being particularly well-known. The album opens with two studio recordings, an outtake from DAYLIGHT AGAIN called "Raise A Voice" and "War Games," a Stills-penned song written for but ultimately not used in the 1983 thriller of the same name.
Unavailable in the U.S.! UK reissue of this album from David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash, originally released in 1983. Primarily a live album, Allies did feature some 'new' studio recordings including 'Raise A Voice' and 'War Games' (initially the theme to the film of the same name but cut from the film). 10 tracks including 'For What It's Worth', 'Dark Star' and more.
