OTIS REDDING - Love Man (1969)

A batch of posthumous Otis Redding albums was released between the singer's 1967 death and 1970. Other than the immortal DOCK OF THE BAY, 1969's "Love Man" is probably the best. It's hard to believe tunes like the jubilant "(Your Love Has Lifted Me) Higher and Higher" and the breathlessly lusty "Love Man" were just languishing in the archives, but they're as arresting as almost anything else in the soul giant's regrettably slim catalogue. Out of print in the U.S.! UK CD pressing of this 1969 release from the Soul belter. While Otis Redding died in 1967, just as he was achieving the success he so richly deserved, his recorded output proves that his talents were in full force even before the world began to take notice.
