JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN - The Deep Field (2011)

Since assuming her current moniker in 2002 - a reference to the 70's cop show, Joan has toured and collaborated with legendary musicians including Rufus Wainwright and Antony and the Johnsons. She has toured extensively throughout Europe and the United States and has received extraordinary critical acclaim for her three studio albums "Real Life" (2006), "To Survive" (2008) and a compilation of covers aptly titled "Cover" (2009).

Joan As Police Woman (AKA Joan Wasser) - the album's ten tracks were recorded over two sessions with "friend and collaborator" Bryce Goggin and is self-described as her "most open, joyous record" ever. "The deep field is a part of space, a very small part of space, that has many many newer galaxies and I became very enamoured with that idea and that name, The Deep Field. I think it's really beautiful, both cosmically and personally." The new album follow up Wasser's 2008 studio album To Survive, a project that one critic described as "intimate nocturnes located somewhere between classical and soul."
