Duke Robillard has always had one foot in the blues world and one in the swing/jazz universe. He loves both styles of music and enjoys not only playing them separately but combining them together.

Duke Robillard presides like a great chef, adding a touch of seasoning here, a little extra heat there. Duke Robillard is a legend and he has been nominated for a Grammy, won four W.C. Handy awards for Blues Guitarist of the Year, recorded with the likes of Bob Dylan, and The Blind Boys of Alabama, plus in 2007 he was the guitarist for Tom Waits tour. The players on A Swingin’ Session are Scott Hamilton, Doug James, Mark Teixera, Sax Gordon, Bruce Katz and Marty Ballou, all major players in the jazz / blues scene and many are bandleaders themselves.
